Jim McTaggart writes in his
'Teesdale Talk' column:
Two men were apprehended when they walked in to the Post Office and asked to change a large amount of coins into notes.
Margaret pretended to to check her till before saying she didn't have enough cash. She noted their vehicle number and called the police, who caught them as they tried to get the coins changed at a bank in Richmond.
c 1970 Mrs McRobbie was given a £10 reward, the highest the Post Office could award.
Jim would be glad to hear from anyone with 'snippets' of news. He can be contacted on 01833 638628 or email Jim:-
